Discover the variety of off-piste activities in the Zillertal! Whether it's tobogganing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, winter hiking, or ice skating – there's something for everyone here.
With a total of 14 natural toboggan runs, the Zillertal offers plenty of opportunities for thrilling descents. Special highlights include the 5.5 km long toboggan run at Spieljoch and the 7 km long toboggan run at Gerlosstein.
For ski touring enthusiasts, the Zillertal is a true paradise. Whether it's short tours or high alpine tours to one of the many three-thousanders – there's something for everyone. In the Hochfügen ski area, beginners find ideal conditions for piste ski tours, even in case of high avalanche danger. Nevertheless, we recommend undertaking ski tours in open terrain only in the company of an experienced mountain guide.
For winter hikers, there are over 50 km of groomed winter hiking trails leading through the fairytale-like winter landscape. There's something for everyone, from leisurely walks to challenging high-altitude hikes.
Even cross-country skiing fans get their money's worth in the Zillertal, with more than 113 kilometers of cross-country ski trails and well-prepared trails for skating and classic style. You can start directly in Stumm on the Ahrnbach trail, an easy-to-run track over 10.5 km, ideal for beginners. For advanced skiers, the challenging high-altitude trail in Hochfügen is recommended.
Ice skating is a real experience in Fügen-Kaltenbach. You can also glide over the ice at the artificial ice rink Kaboom in Kaltenbach or at the artificial ice rink in Fügen near the Zillertaler Erlebnistherme. Ice skates can be rented on-site.
